10:00 – Dr Edward Duca, opens the press conference by introducing the Speakers. He will then cover the exciting line-up of events of the Science in the City Festival, offering details about the venue and the programme focusing on the theme of Changemakers

10:20 - Rector of the University of Malta, Prof. Alfred J. Vella – emphasises the importance of science and technology as the cornerstone for the country's future. He highlights how Science in the City engages citizens in embracing scientific learning.

10:25 – Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation - Hon. Dr. Clifton Grima - presents the importance of STEAM subjects in education and how the Science in the City Festival is an excellent opportunity to highlight these subjects in practice.

10:30 - Parliamentary Secretary of Youth, Research and Innovation - Hon. Keith Azzopardi Tanti — introduces Malta's importance in research and innovation for a greener and more sustainable environment, meeting the goals of the European Green Deal by 2050.

10:35 – Dr Francesca Busuttil, MCAST Researcher, presents MED-WET, an EU-funded project with the aim of improving irrigation efficiency in agriculture, and how the Science in the City Festival can effectively bring research and its outcomes to the attention of citizens.

10:40 - Performance by Festival Creative Practitioner — Jeremy Grech teams up with seismologist Dr Matthew Agius to give you a taste of this theatrical myth-busting extravaganza, set to be showcased during the Science in the City Festival. Introducing Mytho Xjenza—an enchanting fusion of science and storytelling that's not to be missed!

10:50 - Questions: Floor opened to questions by journalists relating to the event.
